Exploring Rome Fiumicino Airport Terminal 1 Work Area

If you happen to be travelling out of Rome Fiumicino Airport Terminal 1 without access to a lounge and are in need to get some work done, there is an area that’s got you covered. Here’s were the Rome Fiumicino Terminal 1 “Work Area” is and what it offers.

Where is the Work Area located in Fiumicino Terminal 1?

Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO) has undergone a significant restyle over the past years. The airport went from being a quite sad place to be at to one of the best airports in Europe. So much so that the airport was awarded a 5 star Skytrax ranking just a few months ago.

For those less familiar with FCO airport, Terminal 1 and more specifically gates A are those mainly used for Schengen area destinations. A huge amount of work went into the renovations of this area, which also is home to the new ITA Airways Hangar Lounge.

That aside the gates A1 to A10 zone is also where you’ll find the Work Area. It’s fairly easy to get to the T1 Work Area. Once in the A1-A10 are just make your way to the upper level, where the airline lounges are. Fitted between the ITA Airways, Star Alliance and Prima Vista lounges is the Fiumicino T1 Work Area.

What Does the Work Area Offer Passengers?

There are several high desks with bar stools where you can work both standing or seated. There are also other meeting tables isolated from the rest of the work area by glass walls. These would be great for taking calls or holding some meeting on the go. At each table you’ll find power outlets never to run out of juice while you working.

Also complimentary high speed Wi-Fi internet is available as it is throughout Rome Fiumicino Airport. You’ll just need to connect to the network and log in via the welcome page and your set to surf the net. I think touches like this work area are great to see in an airport such as FCO with ambitions to become more of a transfer hub. It was unthinkable to consider FCO as a transit airport for your trip in its previous sad pre-covid state.
