About The Etihad Abu Dhabi New York Service in 2023
2023 will se Abu Dhabi based airline, Etihad Airways, significantly increase it’s presence at New York’s JFK airport. At the moment of writing this post the middle eastern carrier operates a daily flight which in 2023 will become a double daily connection.
From April 24th 2023 the frequency of the current flight will double. Etihad will operate flights EY101 and EY103 every day of the week stacking up to a total of 14 weekly connections.

Connection Optimised Timings
As is the case for many of Etihad Airways’ flight even this double daily connection is timed to optimise connections between flights. Therefore departure times of flights EY101 and EY103 fit perfectly into the the wave of arrivals from the Indian subcontinent and wider Asia.
For instance the new Kolkata service will land and take off within 2 and half hours of the New York flights. However this is no coincidence, it is a core feature of the middle eastern airlines’ business model.
The Aircrafts For EY101 EY103
Although Etihad Airways is bring back the A380 in 2023, they will only fly to London. Therefore the airline will use its other 2 long range aircrafts.
Etihad will fly the route using both its Boeing 787-9 and its Airbus A350-1000. These are some of the most fuel efficient planes in the world. Their usage will help limit CO2 emissions.
The two aircraft types, both built with composite materials, will feature a 2 class configuration with Economy and Business class seats. Specifically:
- 28 Business Class seats.
- 271 Economy Class seats.
- 44 Business Class seats.
- 328 Economy Class seats.
