As one of the largest airlines in the far east and the flag carriere of Korea, Korean is often a go to option for travel to the region and the main choice for trips to South Korea. With air travel demand on the rise KE will be increasing its presence on the European market in 2023. 4 European cities will be seeing the unmistakeable light blue Korean Air planes this year. Let’s take a closer look at the news about these flights.
Korean Air Increasing Flights to Europe
The four cities that will see these flights were all part of the Korean Air pre pandemic route network. So we can’t really talk about new flights, these are more like returning flights. Specifically the 4 cities to receive KE flights again in 2023 are:
- Prague (PRG) Flight KE969 starting March 27th
- Zurich (ZRH) KE917 starting March 28th
- Istanbul (IST) KE955 starting April 24th
- Madrid (MAD) KE913 starting April 25th
All of these destinations will have a 3 times weekly flight connecting them to Seoul Incheon Interantional Airport (ICN). Now, with that out of the way let’s go into the details of timing and scheduling of these flights.

More Flexibility For Flights to Korea
Along with opening the opportunity of direct travel from and to these cities from Korean Air’s hub in Incheon International Airport of Seoul, these flights grant greater travel options for a much vaster audience.
As a member of the SkyTeam alliance, you can book flights under one reservation while travelling on two operators on your journey. So you might also book, as I did once, a flight to Seoul from Rome via Prague. Flying the first sector on CSA and the long leg to Seoul with KE.
As you can see this greatly increases possibilities for travellers between Europe and South Korea.
